CDDTC Championship Show

Tait Hall, Kelso, 16th June 2019. Judge: Mrs Jackie Shore (Swanwillow).

I would like to thank this hard working Committee for inviting me to judge this Championship Show for the second time, the first time was in 2000 and the Club has gone from strength to strength well done to everyone involved. Special thanks to my steward Ali Cox who kept the ring flowing. My overall view was today bitches were stronger than dogs both numerically and quality, in some classes I had to choose between soundness and size, which for me soundness must come first. Heads gave me some concern, with flat skulls, high set ears and short muzzles, with small teeth they are after all working Terriers and should be capable of holding and dispatching efficiently.

Up to size mustard. Large masculine head, good mouth deep muzzle, could be better in stop. A little heavy in neck and shoulders. Correct in topline and tailset. In good quality coat of correct texture. Moved out better behind than front which was a little wide, could lose some weight to advantage.
