East of England Agricultural Society

East of England Showground, 6th July 2018. Judge: Mr Paul W Osbourne.

Thank you to the exhibitors for your entries, for what was my first appointment at this level, albeit without CCs. Unfortunately it was a very hot day which no doubt led to absentees, I was also informed that there was a Club Championship show on the following day. Thank you to my two stewards, Roger and Linda who kept things moving.

Puppy Dog/Bitch 1st: Stanley's Sokrovische Gardariki Aristokrat at Waffelin
10 month old mustard male, apparently only recently arriving in this country which had an effect on his coat, well proportioned head, with a broad skull, strong in muzzle, large eyes of good colour, straight front, deep chest, would have preferred a tighter elbow, correct length to back with rise over loin and fall away to tail, good muscle for age, well let down hocks, was a true mover fore and aft. BD, BOB, BP.
2nd: Stanley's Sokrovische Gardariki Astory at Waffelin
10 month pepper bitch, litter sister to the winner, on first inspection thought would be my winner, excelled in head, strong in neck into well laid shoulders, straight front, good depth of chest for age, straight front, tighter elbows than her brother, good length of back, adequate bend of stifle, tail carried well, unfortunately was un cooperative with her owner, moved better in the challenge, BB.

Open Dog/Bitch 1st: Hubbard's Bonnybeck Chrystal Cascade at Crackerdog
Three year old mustard bitch, feminine head of correct proportions, correct ear, good neck and shoulders, would have preferred a straighter front, would benefit from shorter nails, sufficient depth of chest, tight elbows, good shape to back with rise across the loin, adequate rear with well let down hocks, would have preferred better tail carriage.
2nd: Stanley's Honey Hope ze Zihelske Zahrady at Waffelin
Fourteen month mustard bitch, lost out on overall shape and balance to one, good head proportions, not the depth of chest of one, another who would benefit from attention to nails, reasonable length to back but lacked rise over the loin, good rear, better tail carriage then one, moved OK.

Special Beginners 1st: Hubbard & Miller's Dryfevalley Johnny Fox
Two year old mustard male, reasonable masculine head, good shoulders, tight elbows, would have preferred more rise over the loin, reasonable rear angles, would have preferred better tail carriage, moved Ok.
